Jesus is the "Good News." He is God's way in which we find meaning and salvation. The Bible tells us God's story through history where He is always working to bring hope and peace to all the world. Jesus is the complete work of God to bring salvation. There are four key elements to this message of Good News:
-
God rules: The Bible says God created everything, including you and me, and He’s in charge of everything. (Genesis 1:1, Revelation 4:11, and Colossians 1:16-17)
-
Man sinned: We inherently disobey God. The Bible calls this sin and sin separates us from God. The punishment? Death. (Romans 3:23 and 6:23)
-
Out of His love God sent Jesus: He’s the perfect solution to our sin problem, rescuing us from the punishment we deserve. It’s something we, as sinners, could never earn on our own. Jesus alone saves us. (John 3:16, Ephesians 2:8-9 and Acts 16:30-31)
-
We respond in repentance and faith: Believe in your heart that Jesus alone saves you through what He did on the cross. Repent by turning from sin and seeking to satisfy your own desires, then turn to obeying Jesus and His purposes. You then tell God and others that your faith is in Jesus. (John 14:6 and Romans 10:9-10, 13)

It is important for you to respond and surrender your life to Jesus. We do this by confessing that we need Him and His forgiveness. When we surrender our lives to Jesus, we become followers of Jesus and He starts changing us from the inside out. Here are a few areas for you to consider next:

Professing Your Faith: When something this life changing happens, your first response is to tell others. You declare your faith in Jesus by telling the story of your salvation. Most people begin by sharing their decision to follow Jesus with their family, friends, or pastor.

Baptism: As Jesus was baptized, so also are we who follow Him. Baptism is a symbol of the work Christ is doing as follow Him. It is a picture of putting the past and sin behind us and following a new life in Jesus Christ.

Join the Church: Church is a gathering of followers of Jesus who share life and worship and grow together. The church is a place for every follower to continue their journey in service, shared resources, and combined efforts to share the Good News with others.
